Become unstoppable as you MEET YOUR MOUNTAIN
A transformational group coaching programme in the mountains for Entrepreneurs and Senior Professionals who want to overcome their doubts and fears, find clarity and rediscover their sense of adventure
Are you wandering the same old paths?
It’s so easy to slide into comfortable routines in life that give you structure and keep you safe.
Comfortable thinking is familiar, and familiar feels safe, but it also dulls your creativity, traps your thoughts, and keep your ideas small.
Real change comes from innovative thinking.
Innovative thinking comes from fresh perspectives, intrepid adventure and the time and space to explore what is keeping you stuck and stopping you from taking bold action.
So, is it going to be another year going through the same motions, or is it time for big, adventurous and daring change?
Does this sound familiar?
You used to have a clear sense of purpose, but now you’re feeling bogged down
You’ve gotten too comfortable by playing it safe, and you’ve lost your sense of adventure
You’re not sure you’re on the right path any more, but haven’t got time to check
You avoid asking yourself the big questions because you’re worried you won’t like the answers
Traditional ways of thinking just aren’t cutting it and you need some inspiration that will give you the breakthrough you need
You KNOW that if you just stopped, took a step back, and were challenged with the crucial questions, you might just be able to see things with a different perspective.
So why don’t you?
Big change requires Big Thinking, which doesn’t happen in small rooms

🗺️ Location: Eryri (Snowdonia)
⛰️ Ascent: 964m (tough)
➡️ Distance: 7km
The fast pace and relentless nature of the world today presents constant waves of challenges that can wear us down.
We often think about success is down to being better, working harder, but the secret is sometimes as simple as having the determination and resilience to weather the storms and for long enough to emerge not only intact, but thriving on the other side.
On this adventure, we will explore what the mountains can teach us about resilience, and build our own unbreakable fortitude by taking on three challenges, one after the other.
We start with enchanting, yet imposing mountain of Tryfan, then steady ourselves for the second challenge of Bristly Ridge to ascend Glyder Fach, before one final test on the descent of Y Gribin.

🗺️ Location: Glen Nevis, Scotland
⛰️ Ascent: 1608m (extreme)

Why do we make changes for the better, and then fall back into the same old cycles and patterns?
We often take the easy path with change - a burst of effort for a short period of time that seems to get us what we want, but its effects are temporary.
On this adventure, we will explore what it means to take the ‘hard path’ - long-lasting, and sustainable change, where we don’t keep repeating the same cycles, whilst climbing the highest mountain in the UK.
And of course, we’ll shun the “easy” path up to the summit of Ben Nevis, instead ascending via the challenging, yet superbly rewarding, Carn Mor Derag Arete.

Got Questions? Check out our Meet Your Mountain FAQ
-
A. No, the programme does not include accommodation. We can send you some recommendations in the local area for each Walkshop, and we also encourage you to use the programme WhatsApp group to arrange to meet up when you get there the night before, if you wish.
-
A. Ah, the important question! We do not provide food for the Walkshops. We recommend a good breakfast before each adventure, and a lunch and snacks containing a decent number of calories, that doesn't take up too much space in your bag. After each Walkshop there will be an option to join us for a post-walk drink and/or meal - this is not included in the price (though I have been known to get the first round in on occasion!)
-
A. If you are unable to make a date, please get in touch as soon as you are aware, and we’ll co-ordinate with other people in the group to find another mutually convenient date.
If we are unable to find a date that works for everyone, we may be able to move you to one of the one-off Walkshop events we are running throughout the year.
-
A. Each adventure is different, but on the whole, Walkshops have been arranged to start in locations where parking is available. Sometimes early start times are reflective of the need to get to the car park early, before it is full!
For public transport options, please get in touch. Most meeting points are accessible via a local bus service, but will require some co-ordination, and probably an overnight stay.
You can also use the programme’s WhatsApp group to co-ordinate travel and car share if you wish.
-
A. This depends on where the Walkshop is held, and where you are travelling from. I travel from Leeds, and would say that for me, staying over the night before for adventures in Scotland is essential, highly desirable for adventures in Wales, and optional for adventures in the Lake District. The LATEST that any of our Walkshops will start is 0930, so please bear this in mind when making plans
-
A. We carry some convenient foam seats to allow us to hunker down in nature when we need to do some drawing and writing. For group sessions in wetter weather, we carry a tarp that we can set up to be able to shelter and draw any diagrams/nice pictures/plans for world domination.
-
A. We will meet in a local cafe prior to each Walkshop. Where possible, we will aim to walk directly from the cafe; in some cases it may be a short drive to the start point. You may wish to car-share with other participants to save money/congestion or reduce the environmental impact.
-
A. Yes, all routes are circular, and start and end at the same point
-
A. A full guide of what to bring will be provided (and I have provided a video here), but generally if you already do any hill walking, you probably have everything you need. If you want to invest in good kit I would recommend these are your priorities (I honestly think everything else you can get on a budget):
A good, comfy pair of walking boots, preferably with Vibram soles
A decent lightweight waterproof jacket
A comfy pair of hiking socks
We will provide any workshop materials you may need on the day (notebooks/pencils etc.).
-
A. If you do any hillwalking, particularly if you have been for longer walks over the course of a day, you will find the days challenging, but well within your capability. If you are not used to hillwalking, please get in touch once you have booked, and I can send over 2-3 practice routes local to you, to help to build up a level of fitness.
-
Not really a question, but yeah, I see where you are coming from. Meet Your Mountain is really designed to challenge you, and keep you in that stretch zone, which will take your thinking to the next level.
The routes do increase with difficulty throughout the programme, with each one a reachable step up from the last.
The first is more than achievable by anyone who has done some hillwalking.
I know the programme isn’t for the faint of heart, but this is exactly the challenge you need, and I will be here to support you every step of the way.
-
A. All of the routes are 'walks', and do not require any prior technical climbing skills. Some of the routes cover some Grade 1 Scrambling ground - this is where you may need to use your hands to move over rock, and there may be some exposure. You will be guided over these obstacles where needed and coached on how to move securely over steeper ground.
-
A. Not on these ones I'm afraid - these are long days, with workshops throughout and sometimes tricky terrain - I'm not sure your dog will appreciate the adventure quite as much as you!
-
A. Yes! We can deliver any of the Walkshops privately for groups of up to 6. We can also deliver bespoke Walkshops on bespoke routes. Please get in touch for more information.
-
