A BIG Milestone for Mountain Boardroom!

I finally qualified as a Mountain Leader 2 weeks ago. This one means a lot to me.

On 20th January 2020, I sat in the office, sketching ideas of how to take people and teams outdoors, on hikes in the mountains.

I imagined freeing teams from the desk, helping them bond, and come up with idea after idea as they walked and talked.

I dreamed that individuals would open up, challenge themselves (and their beliefs), and take in the views from top (and get new perspectives).

But there was one nagging question... wouldn't I need to be qualified or licenced to lead groups outdoors?

The answer is... No!

Not at all.

Which is great! Anything that creates a barrier between people and nature is a Bad Thing. Everyone who can, should be trying to walk and talk whenever they are able.

So why did I decide to register for the Mountain Leader course that afternoon?

I am a big believer of putting yourself out there, making big decisions in the face of uncertainty and taking RISKS. A lot of the work we do with our clients is to challenge them and get them out of their comfort zone.

BUT I need to create an environment that enables this, and that means somewhere that for all its challenge, is also SAFE!

I wanted to make sure I could take you out into the most epic environments in the UK, without worrying whether I was taking a huge risk on your safety.

It is liberating to know that no matter which path we take, which hill tackle, which mountain we climb, and how challenging the journey is, I've got your back.

The wild outdoors is our playground. No mountain is too high.
